Our approach

Build your toolkit. Understand the why.

Our goalkeeper coaching in Surrey builds goalkeepers from the ground up, with a strong focus on technique and on understanding the why behind what we do.

How we teach

Goalkeeping is about making split-second decisions that are not based on a script. Our environment reflects that. We focus on building confidence, understanding and game-realistic decisions. We teach.

How we build a goalkeeper

Like building a house.

Becoming a goalkeeper is like building a house. Each step makes the next one stronger, and every student builds at their own pace.

1

Foundation

First we start with the foundation, because without a strong foundation the house won’t be solid long term.

2

Frame

Then we frame it and give it structure.

3

Walls

Then we add the walls, giving it strength.

4

Decorate

And finally, we get to decorate it.

More than goalkeeping

Welcome to the GK Union.

We believe in developing the whole person, regardless of the level they play at now or the one they hope to play at. We focus not only on technique, but on character and confidence too. Our Goalkeeper Union, the GK Union, is a strong community.

Watch

Put some pop in your dive.

Struggling to get some pop in your dive? That is very common. You don’t need to just go for it: we teach diving one step at a time, so every goalkeeper can learn a strong, explosive dive.

Four parts of your toolkit.

Technical

The skills of the position: catching, diving, footwork and playing the ball with your hands and feet.

Tactical

Reading the game: where to stand, when to move and which choice to make.

Physical

Footwork, agility and strength, so you can get to the ball.

Mental

Bravery, focus and confidence, so you can stay calm under pressure.

See it for yourself

Try it for free.

The best way to understand our goalkeeper coaching in Surrey is to try it. Youth goalkeepers can try a group session for free. Adults can book a private session.
